Today is Election Day; be sure to Vote!

It is election day, and if you haven’t done it already, it is time to learn what is on the ballot and make sure your vote is counted.

As suffragist Susan B. Anthony said, “Someone struggled for your right to vote. Use it.”

If you are unsure where to vote, you can visit This website will direct you to your designated polling place in your county. New voters can register to vote in person at their designated polling places on election day with the proper documentation in most counties.

At the top of the ballot in this election is an amendment for the right to collective bargaining for workers. The amendment would add a new section to the Bill of Rights Article of the Illinois Constitution that would guarantee protections to unions and workers that are organizing unions. Many proponents of this amendment say that it will strengthen the position of all workers in Illinois. It is important to note that failing to select “yes” or “no” on this amendment will count as a “no” vote.

Illinois voters also will be voting for governor: incumbent Democrat J. B. Pritzker, Republican Darren Bailey. and Libertarian Scott Mitchell Schluter are on the ballot. Illinois residents also will be voting for a U.S. senator and U.S representatives, as well as multiple other local officials.
