During March, Governors State University will join the nation in recognizing the impact that women have made throughout history.

GSU will kick off women’s history month with a display in the B building. The Women’s History Month display will be viewable all month long. GSU community members also will have an opportunity in early March to thank the women who have inspired or impacted them. An admiration station will be set up in the Hall of Governors on March 2. This event will begin at 11:30 a.m.

On March 8, GSU is encouraging a show of solidarity across social media. In celebration of International Women’s day. Participants are encouraged to share a photo with the following hashtags: #GovState #IWD2023 #EmbraceEquity.

“Rise Up! Truth to Power” will be at the performing arts center on March 10 and 11. This dance ensemble features choreography from GSU alumni, faculty, and students. Rise up! Is directed by Megan Lindsay. This event “features diverse and provocative performances that defy classification.” The show begins at 7;30 pm on both nights. Tickets for this event are on sale now
