The Governors State University Jamboree  On October 2 2017, Governors State University held its annual Jamboree. The GSU Jamboree was hosted by the recreation and athletics department and is an inter-squad basketball game where the women’s team plays against one another and then the men’s team plays against one another. The Jamboree is held during preseason to give the coaches, players, friends and family the opportunity to get to know one another in more of a game setting.

“We all bonded pretty quickly, the coaches are really really lenient. They have a really good structure on the way they want us to run the sets and the philosophies they have on defense. I believe we can be successful if we listen to the ones who know what they are talking about.” said Deontre Crenshaw, point guard and shooting guard on the men’s Jaguar team. Deontre Crenshaw is a junior at Governors State University and is looking forward to starting the season.  The Jaguars’ first game will be against Chicago State University on November 21st 2017.
